Hi! I'm Shaylen. I'm an avid writer and fairly new to the blogging scene.
I'm still working on getting this blog customized and set up, but once I
do, it will have plenty of interesting stuff for you to check out.
What I'll Write About
I'm
new to the S.C.A. and plan to study Leather working, Mead making, and a
variety of other crafty things. I'll be making some of my own garb,
cooking up some (hopefully) delicious period food, and eventually
designing and creating a set of leather armor (cool, right?). As I do
these things, I will post about them here, along with lots of photos, so
that you can see exactly how everything is put together and how it
looks in the end. I'll also be keeping a journal like account of my
social interactions in the S.C.A. and the local Shire. Of course, I
won't share information that others wouldn't want made public or
gossip/bad mouth any of the S.C.A. members I come across. I'm just not
that kind of person.
Articles and Income
I try to make any hobby I put large amounts of time into, profitable in some way. In this case, I will be reposting many of my articles on Expertscolumn, as well as writing original articles just for expertscolumn and linking to them in my blog articles. If you like my blog, please take the time to check out an article or two during your blog visits. Also, if you find the articles or blog posts helpful to you, please share them on your facebook or twitter accounts. It only takes a second to post a link and it will help me out a lot. If I get enough traffic to my articles, I'll be able to spend more time writing about S.C.A. type things and less time doing 'real work.'
So, that's the plan. With any luck, this blog will help me to connect with history and craft enthusiasts as well as S.C.A. members I might never have met otherwise.
